Awaken is a considered pilates studio built around slow, precise movement — reformer and mat classes in a light-filled space designed to help you feel at home in your body.

Awaken
Awaken is built on a simple idea: when you understand your body, you move differently.
We believe Pilates is most powerful when it is taught as a method, not a collection of exercises. That means understanding the principles, knowing the intention behind every movement, and learning not simply what to do, but why you are doing it.
Our approach is grounded in the principles and lineage of Pilates and informed by the BASI methodology. We value precision over repetition, intention over imitation, and understanding over simply following a trend.
Because Pilates isn't meant to be something you check off your list.
It is a practice that can change the way you breathe, move, stand, train, recover and experience your own body.
And when practiced consistently, it becomes more than exercise.
It becomes a habit. A way of moving. A way of living.
This is Awaken.
"The mind, when housed within a healthful body, possesses a glorious sense of power."
— Joseph Pilates

A bit about me
"Pilates is most powerful when it is taught as a method — with intention, understanding and respect for its principles."
Prakruti's journey into Pilates began during her physiotherapy internship at the Spine Institute, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad — where she saw a woman use Pilates apparatus and her knowledge of movement to help her husband recover from a stroke. Seeing Pilates used this way opened her eyes to a different possibility: that movement could be approached as something far beyond simply prescribing exercises.
Years of study and teaching followed — from her first teacher training in Mumbai to the BASI methodology in Dubai, advanced mentorship programs in the United States, and four years teaching in Bahrain. Today, she has progressed into BASI's faculty pathway and taught her first BASI teacher training course in India.
Despite it all, Prakruti considers herself first and foremost a student of movement. For her, Pilates isn't about becoming stronger or more flexible — it's about becoming more aware of the body and developing a relationship with movement that can last a lifetime.
Her journey
A decade of refinement, blending clinical expertise with global movement philosophies to create a new standard for Pilates in Ahmedabad.
Completed her first Pilates teacher training in Mumbai and began teaching in Ahmedabad — where curiosity grew beyond the exercises, toward the method behind them.
Through Pilates Anatomy by Rael Isacowitz she found the BASI methodology — completing Pilates for Pathologies and Injuries, then her BASI Comprehensive certification in Dubai.
Worked with athletes, children, older adults, pre- and postnatal clients, people recovering from injuries, and high-performing professionals from all walks of life.
Travelled to the United States for BASI's advanced and mentorship programs — including the Legacy and Honors programs — learning from teachers who shaped the method.
Her journey brought her home to Ahmedabad to create something of her own — a space built around her belief that Pilates is most powerful when taught as a method.
Now on BASI's faculty pathway, Prakruti has taught her first BASI teacher training course in India — continuing to learn and contribute to Pilates education.
"A place where people don't simply come to exercise, but come to understand their bodies, find joy in movement, and eventually make it a part of their lives."
— Prakruti Bhatt
